Since organic films are used as dielectric substance for capacitor, depending on circuit configuration, breakage due to the overvoltage or overcurrent may lead to smoking and/or ignition.

 1. Ordering information

Please refer to the followings when ordering.
1)Working Voltage (DC or AC)
2)Nominal capacitance and acceptable capacitance
3)Operating temperature range
4)Application Type
5)Application or circuit diagram (resonaoce,smoosing,snabor,etc.)
6)Operating conditions (voltage,current,frequency,waveform,etc.)

 2. Capacitor type selection

Choose the capacitor best suited for the operating conditions. Improper choice may facilitate degradation of capacitor's characteristic.
Consult us or your local dealership on use for unauthorized purpose.


 3. Performing rating

According to the operating and mounting environment, Use capacitor(s) within the range of performing rating as specified in the supplied specifications.


 4. Applied voltage

1) Voltage shall be applied to capacitor(s) so that peak values of surge voltage and ripple voltage (DC voltage+AC peak value) will not exceed the rated voltage, unless specified. Consult us or your local dealership if the above-mentioned values exceed rated voltage. When it is used under the conditions exceeding the rated temperature (maximum temperature under the rated voltage), derate the rated voltage according to the derating curve as specified in the supplied specifications.

2) Dc rated capacitors that the supplied specifications allows to be used for AC circuit or pulse circuit, should be used in accordance with the specified rating.

3) Consult us or your local dealership when connecting 2 or more capacitors in series.


 5. Operating temperature and humidity
1) Use capacitor(s) within the range of operating temperature as specified in the supplied specifications. Pay attention to the difference between the storage temperature and operating temperaturein some type of capacitors.
2) Do not use capacitor(s) in adverse environment where sudden temperature changes occur even if it is within the range of the specified operating temperature.

3) Do not use capacitor(s) at high humidity to avoid dews on capacitor(s).


 6. Acceptable current
1) Do not use capacitor(s) under the conditions exceeding permissible current carrying capacity as specified in the supplied specifications. Acceptable current varies with waveform or frequency of applied pulse Consult us or your local dealership for further information.

2) Ambient temperature also imposes limitations on permissible current carrying capacity. Check "self-temperature-rise" and ambient temperature.


 7. For charge and discharge

As Sudden charge or discharge exceeding the specified conditions may lead to degradation and/or breakage of capacitior (s), please do not execute the sudden charge or discharge.


 8. Hum(Buzz)

Hum produced by capacitors due to mechanical vibration of the film is caused by the coulomb force which exists between electrodes of opposite polarity. A louder hum is produced when applied voltage waveform has distortion, and/or higher frequency component, etc. Although hum does not spoil characteristics of capacitors. Consult us or your local dealership if Hum (Buzz) occurs from capacitor(s).


 9. Mounting/Washing

1) Mounting (capacitors with lead wire terminal)
① Care must be taken when attaching lead wire terminal of capacitor into printed circuit board so that pulling and/or torsion force exceeding the specified force will not be applied to it.
② When large-sized capacitor(s) are used or when capacitor(s) are mounted on printed circuit board subject to vibration, (the body must be secured by jigs or resin) that will not adversely affect capacitor performance.
③ Capacitor(s) must be mounted in the manner in which they make no contact with other parts.(Capacitor(s) may suffer any damage if other parts have high voltage or are heat-producing.)
2) Soldering
  When soldering capacitors, observe the specified requirements.

◆Example of solder conditions
Flow soldering
Pre-heating 120℃ Less than 90sec.
Solder conditions 260℃ Less than 7sec.
Soldering iron 380℃ Less than 5sec.

3) Washing
①When washing printed circuit board with solvent in order to remove flux, observe the specified requirements.
②Wash circuit board immediately after soldering is completed.

③Dry circuit board immediately after washing is completed.


 10. Precautions during operation

1) Do not touch capacitor(s) with your bare hands.

2) Do not make a short circuit in terminals of a capacitor. Do not splash any conductive solvent, such as acid and alkaline solution, on capacitors.

3) Check installation environment for the set in which capacitor(s) are mounted.

4) Should capacitors produce fire, smoke or objectionable odor during the operation, disconnect them from power immediately.


 11. Storage/Handling

1) Storage requirements
①Storage location shall be indoor with the temperature of-10 to 40 ℃ and with the relative humidity of 85 % or less. Do not subject capacitor(s) to the atmosphere in which sudden temperature changes, direct sunlight and/or any corrosive gas (such as hydrogen sulfide, sulfide, sulfur dioxide, chlorine and ammonia gas) exists.

②Store capacitor(s) in the shipping carton so that no load will be imposed on them. Capacitor(s) for which special storage manners are required should be stored in such manners.
2) Handling
①Do not subject capacitor(s) to excessive vibration, shock (such as drop) and/or pressure.

②Do not subject lead wire(s) to excessive force (including bending pulling).

③Do not use if the capacitor is dropped, its characteristics may be damaged.


 12. Disposal

Consult your local professionals specialized in industrial wastes on disposal of capacitor(s).
