Introducing Interesting Toothbrushes
from Around the World - Vol. 2

We’d like to introduce another fun toothbrush!
For this second edition, we’re featuring a toothbrush made from 1010 nylon.
You may have been hearing more and more about the term “SDGs” (Sustainable Development Goals) in the news.Toothbrushes are often made with lots of plastic, from the handle to the bristles and blister packaging.
Toothbrush manufacturers are constantly exploring ways to create environmentally-friendly products by using biomass, natural materials, recycled, or alternative materials.
However, the rising cost of daily goods and toothbrushes has made it challenging to develop eco-friendly products, as the cost of raw materials inevitably increases.
While it’s better for the environment, it’s tough on the wallet, creating a tricky situation.
At our company, we continuously exchange information with suppliers and research new sources to meet these diverse needs and offer attractive materials.
1010 Nylon Toothbrush
Most toothbrushes use petroleum-based nylon, but 1010 nylon is derived from castor oil, made from the seeds of the castor bean plant.
This plant can grow on barren land unsuitable for food production, making it highly compatible with the SDGs.
Although it may seem unfamiliar, castor plants are actually grown in Japan as ornamental plants.
If you're curious, you might spot them around—like near Sannomiya Station, close to our office.

Though 1010 nylon looks just like regular bristles, it comes with a higher price tag.
Moreover, one might wonder how much of the overall toothbrush becomes eco-friendly just by switching the bristles.
Nevertheless, small steps like this contribute to creating environmentally-friendly products.
While toothbrushes with 1010 nylon bristles are still rare, we aim to promote this as a sustainable choice for a better future.

We offer these attractive bristle materials to help our clients develop unique products.
Whether you are a toothbrush manufacturer or someone looking to create a new toothbrush, we welcome your inquiries.
We’re also keen to explore new applications for toothbrushes.
