NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL FROM FILM CAPACITOR BUSINESS

Since our successful development of the world’s first polypropylene film capacitor in 1965, we have been engaged in the development, manufacturing, and sales of film capacitor products, serving diverse customer needs through our production bases in Nagano, Japan, and Malaysia. We deeply appreciate the trust and support extended to us by our valued customers and business partners over the years.

However, due to the increasingly challenging business environment surrounding the film capacitor industry, and despite our continuous efforts to improve operations and sustain the business, we have been facing persistent losses. After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that we have concluded it is no longer feasible to continue this business. Accordingly, we have decided to withdraw from the film capacitor business and will terminate all related operations at both our Nagano plant and our subsidiary in Malaysia, with targeting date on or around the end of October, 2026

We will make every possible effort to support our customers during this transition period, including providing relevant information and cooperating in discussions regarding alternative sourcing. Also we will share our purchasing plans if any in detail with all of our business partners.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this decision may cause and kindly ask for your understanding.

For your information, our Company Shinyei Kaisha Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd has obtained approval from MITI (18/Apr/20) and authority allowed run operation with minimum movement of employees from total workforce in the company comply M.C.O SOP.

Following the latest announcement by the Prime Minister today, Tan Sri Muhiyddin Yassin, Shinyei Kaisha Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd will extend the closing of the company from March 18, 2020 - 28/4/2020.

This is a decisive step by the Government of Malaysia to prevent the Covid-19 virus transmission to protect the health of our staff.

We will resume our operations from April 29, 2020 onwards.

Once we have the latest directives from the government, we will notify you accordingly.

We regret for any inconvenience caused. Your cooperation is greatly appericiated.
